The eighth generation Honda
Civic is a pleasing combination of form and function. And with a
variety of powertrains, excellent fuel economy, and comfortable interior,
there's a lot to like. With so many trim levels to choose from, there's a Civic
for just about everybody. The 2011 line features sedans, coupes, a hybrid, the
performance-oriented Si, and the natural gas-powered Civic GX. The hybrid and
GX are only available as sedans, while the Si is available in sedan and coupe.
The Civic is available with one of four engine types and four transmissions,
depending on the model.

front, side-mounted, and side-curtain airbags, active front head restraints,
tire-pressure monitoring, anti-lock brakes with electronic force distribution,
daytime running lights, and a front exterior designed to prevent pedestrian
injury. EX-L, Si and Hybrid models add stability and traction control, as well
as brake assist.

The Civic Sedan and Coupe are powered by a 1.8-liter,
four-cylinder, 140 horsepower engine with 128 lb.-ft. of torque power, and
five-speed manual or automatic transmission. The Civic Si sports a 2.0-liter,
197 horsepower four-cylinder engine with 139 lb.-ft. of torque that comes with
a six-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. Civic Hybrid
pairs a 1.3-liter, 110 horsepower four-cylinder gasoline engine with 123
lb.-ft. of torque and a 20-horsepower electric motor that adds 76 lb.-ft. of
twist. Civic GX uses a 113 horsepower 1.8-liter engine with 109 lb.-ft. of
torque that runs on compressed natural gas. Civic Hybrid is equipped with a
continuously variable transmission, while the GX uses a five-speed automatic
transmission.

Civic Coupe and Sedans range from DX to EX-L and feature
upgrades for each model. Honda’s satellite navigation system is available on
EX, EX-L, Si and Hybrid models. The navigation system includes 2.5-inch
motorized display with voice activation for navigation control and for
controlling the audio system. Other features include XM Satellite Radio
compatibility and Bluetooth wireless telephone interface with steering wheel mounted
controls. Standard on all models from the DX-VP and above is an auxiliary audio
input jack that allows for audio playback from portable devices. While the
DX-VP and LX Sedan feature four-speaker, 160-watt audio systems, the LX Coupe
is a six-speaker setup. EX, EX-L, Hybrid and Si models feature a USB audio
input, while all systems play MPE and WMA format CDs.
Civic DX is comes with the 1.8-liter engine along with a five-speed
manual transmission (a five-speed automatic transmission is available), 15-inch
wheels, power windows and a folding rear seat. DX-VP Sedan adds air
conditioning, and a 160-watt AM/FM/CD audio system with aux input and
four-speakers. Civic LX adds or upgrades with cruise control, 16-inch wheels,
power door locks, center console with armrest, keyless entry, auto up/down
driver’s window and folding rear seat. LX-S Sedan features alloy wheels, black
cloth seats with synthetic suede bolsters, leather-wrapped steering wheel,
rear-deck spoiler and a chrome exhaust finisher. EX Sedan and Coupe adds a
power moon roof, 60/40 split folding rear seat, and steering wheel-mounted
audio controls. EX-L features leather seats, steering wheel and shift knob,
heated front seats and door mirrors, and a seven-speaker audio system with
subwoofer.
