Meet the Honda CR-V Hybrid - A New Version of an Old Friend

You're most likely familiar with the Honda CR-V. A popular, go-to choice drivers throughout the Annapolis area prefer for its eye-catching exterior and interior spaciousness, this SUV has been a familiar sight on area roads since 1997. Now in its fifth outstanding generation, the crossover model we know and love is ready for test drive at Honda of Annapolis.

The Honda CR-V Hybrid SUV is a new option for getting the compact Honda crossover style you want. It has the familiar appeal and comfort of the original, gas-powered version drivers have appreciated for decades, but with a cutting-edge, efficient hybrid powertrain under its hood.

Comparing the Honda CR-V Hybrid and Gas Models

Available in four well-equipped trim levels, the new hybrid SUV looks nearly identical to the gas version from the outside. Both models are 73 inches wide and 182.1 inches long, but the Honda CR-V Hybrid model is a little taller and has a slightly higher ground clearance than the gas version.

On the inside, you and your passengers may not notice much difference at all. Both seat five people and are identical in terms of headroom, legroom, and shoulder room. However, the gas-powered model has a cargo hold that can accommodate 39.2 cubic feet, while the hybrid model holds around 33.2 cubic feet.

But the biggest difference of all between these two models is, of course, the powerplant that lies under the hood. The new Honda CR-V Hybrid is equipped with a smooth and efficient 2.0-liter four-cylinder hybrid engine with 212 horsepower and standard all-wheel drive. Comparatively, the gas-powered model has all-wheel drive available as an option and comes powered by a standard turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 190 horsepower.
